Feedback Culture

Me And My Blog

Hey, you, welcome! Wondering how this blog came about?

For the first 18 years of my life, I wasn’t conscious of the impact giving and receiving feedback could have in my and other people’s life. However, a few years ago, I discovered how meaningful life can be if we let each other know how my and other‘s actions contribute to our well-being, or if they don´t, how they could. The concept of giving and receiving feedback has guided me now for the last seven years (you may count my age at this point!). Through developing my ability to give and receive feedback, my relationships- both one on one and within groups – have become so much more authentic and satisfying for me.

My own present feedback style was first introduced to me by the Nonviolent Communication of Marshall B. Rosenberg. Marshall Rosenberg’s work has been most illuminating in regards to communication and feedback, and this is where I continue to find answers to my questions.

Marshall, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude for your work. Being able to gain this knowledge has turned my life into a wonderful experience. I feel so much more alive and real through focussing on what I and others feel and need. Thank you!!! (A little side note).

Marshall Rosenberg‘s teachings of Nonviolent Communication might not click as much with you as they did with me- which is why I’m including more feedback-models and suggestions in this blog. I hope that you’ll find something here that rings a bell for you, and helps you as much as it helped me.

Some snapshots:

I live in Berlin, Germany, where I study International Business Management. I have a roommate who I‘m totally crazy about. At the moment we’ve got this “competition” where we do things to meet each others‘ needs without investing too much time or effort – today he won again!

I love to work hard, I cried a lot in my life and, as might have been your experience too, my life wasn‘t all smooth and easy. My biggest recurring challenge is to do a bit less, to perform according to realistic expectations. I love to learn, be interested and inspired. I love being ‘real‘ and to look for win-win solutions (where I win AND the other one wins). I’m dedicated to my inner growth – I love to develop myself. And I love my banana smoothie!
